Etiquette Club
The Etiquette Club at PS/MS 95 accepts students in grades 5-8 to participate. The purpose of this club is to allow students and opportunity to understand societal norms in behavior.
Topics addressed have included: making a good first impression, phone etiquette and how to appropriately navigate social media, having empathy and respecting cultural differences, table manners and table service. Our goal is improve our students situational awareness and etiquette through monthly meetings where ideas are shared and discussed.
Chefs associated with the WITS program facilitate the meetings with assistance by school staff. Students are generally offered a nutritious snack and fruit infused water during meetings. Our culminating activities include hosting a Mother’s Day Tea Party where parents are invited and students assist with set up, service and take down; students are also taken to a special restaurant and treated to service by restaurant staff. Both events allow students to practice what they’ve learned.
