Visual Arts with Ms. Fiorino (K-5)

The Elementary visual arts program at PS 95 is an inclusive, nurturing program. All students are encouraged to try new things and build their skills as artists through immersion in different forms of art including drawing, painting, oil pastel, collage, sculpture (puppet making) stop motion animation and multimedia art.  We approach the arts through a lens of literacy and include content specific vocabulary and creative problem solving.  Our students have been recognized and have had artwork on display in the Bronx Borough Arts Festival at Lehman College and PS Art @ the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This year we are implementing a Multilingual learner program with Studio in a School and partnering with Dreamyard to provide our students with a variety of experiences in visual arts.

Music with Mr. Devero (Grades 6-8)

The middle school instrumental program teaches beginner to intermediate music students ensemble performance, with modern band, and orchestra.  Students are provided rehearsals twice a week, for two years in the middle school, typically spanning from 6-7th grade.  Each ensemble celebrates their work in an end of the year concert.

There are also various after school ensembles for students that want to supplement their learning/musicianship.  These groups include modern band and drumline.  The after-school groups perform numerous concerts in and out of school, throughout the year.
